This ‘train the trainer’ course is the most cost effective way
for schools or districts to deliver their own Steps Middle
and High School Literacy courses to a large number of teachers.
Facilitators attending this comprehensive six-day course
are provided with intensive training and support materials that
will help them provide high quality professional development and
ongoing support for other teachers.

Steps Middle and High School Literacy
Teacher Course
This hands-on, two-day course focus on helping teachers make effective
use of the Steps Middle and High School Literacy materials
in their own classrooms. Teachers will have time to discuss and
explore key aspects from the Reading to Learn: A Content Teacher’s
Guide book.

Steps Middle and High School Literacy
Leader Course
As well as covering the content from Teacher Course, this four-day course
delve more deeply into content and focus on helping literacy leaders
support other teachers as they implement Steps Middle and High
School Literacy. During the course participants will receive
a range of practical processes to promote on-going implementation
at a school level as well as tips to provide effective coaching.
Administrators Workshop
This workshop recognizes that leadership is crucial to the successful
implementation of any professional development program. It is designed
to support school and district leaders, such as Principals and
administrative staff. The workshop explores the research behind
factors that influence the implementation of change in an educational
setting as well as proving practical ideas, formats, and processes
to create a supportive environment for teachers implementing Steps
Middle and High School Literacy. |
